Online competition celebrating Auto Trader’s new look

The problem

Auto Trader were launching their new branding and TV advert and wanted an online game that would raise awareness of the new look to their customers.

The solution

We created a responsive game based around the “hello, goodbye” theme from the accompanying advertising campaign. The game invited people to upload a picture of an out of date item that they owned that needed replacing, along with a short description. The game site was designed to be used predominantly on mobile devices allowing entrants to take a picture and upload it to the game site directly from their mobile phone.

Using social media, entrants could invite their friends to vote for their image. The person that had gained the most votes would win a shiny new replacement of the their out of date item.
